Magic Mouse has Captured Over 10 Percent Market Share

December 29th, 2009

MagicMouseIn October this year, along with new iMacs, Apple introduced Magic Mouse, the world’s first mouse with a multi- touch surface, like the one you see on iPhones and MacBooks. Magic Mouse’s predecessor, Mighty Mouse, never became any success and many have complained about the scroll ball, but Magic Mouse is completely different, and after just 8 weeks on the market, it has captured over 10 pct. market share, and Apple is now the third best selling mouse manufacturer, behind Microsoft and Logitech.

Though Apple is in third place, their superiors on the mouse market are far ahead, and Apple will by no chance catch up with them as yet, but Apple has felt the demand on Magic Mouse and here at AppleLunch we have actually experienced that it was impossible to purchase Magic Mouse anywhere in Aarhus, Denmark. Premium Reseller “humac” told that they haven’t had any Magic Mouses since November, and were not expecting to have any before late January, so if you want a Magic Mouse, and you live outside America, we recommend you to buy it from Apple Online Store.

Apple Introduces MightyMouse’s Relief – The World’s First Multi-Touch Mouse

October 20th, 2009

MagicMouseHeroApple announced earlier today some new products for the holiday season, which we find quite interesting. Among the new products is a new wireless computer mouse, which is the world’s first mouse to use Apple’s Multi-Touch technology, which we all knows from iPhone, iPod Touch and Mac notebook trackpad. The new mouse is dubbed “Magic Mouse” which is a new name for Apple mouse devices. Magic Mouse’s predecessor, MightyMouse, which had some problems with its wheel, is pulled out of the assortment.

Magic Mouse features a seamless touch-sensitive enclosure that allows it to be a single or multi-button mouse with advanced gesture support. Using intuitive gestures, users can easily scroll through long documents, pan across large images or swipe to move forward or backward through a collection of web pages or photos. Magic Mouse works for left or right handed users and multi-button or gesture commands can be easily configured from within System Preferences.

Magic Mouse will come standard with the new iMac, and will be available at the end of October with a suggested retail price of $69 (US) and it requires Mac OS X Leopard version 10.5.8 or later.

Apple is about to release new keyboard and mouse

October 2nd, 2009

This Friday, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released a document, confirming that a new wireless mouse and keyboard from Apple is about to come.

Engadget discovered the document, which revealed the new Apple keyboard with model number A1314 and an Apple Mouse with model number A1197. The document also included a dimension picture of the new keyboard, which is smaller than the one that is currently available from Apple.

Furthermore, several reports suggest a new multitouch mouse from Apple, which features several improvements from the current MightyMouse. The new coming Apple mouse will potentially be housed in an aluminum shell, but that is just guessing from different fronts. The new mouse is also expected to throw away the problematic mechanical roller ball, and it is here the multitouch technology will do its work.
