The Macworld 2010 is described as “a five-day event that educates, entertains and immerses attendees in the Apple products community and offers access to hundreds of the newest Mac products and services, paired with expert advice and demonstrations from the industry’s leading visionaries.

Next year’s Macworld has got something new in its sleeves, and according to the official report, it will include:

Steve Jobs returns as Apple keynote speaker!

September 10th, 2009

Steve Jobs - Keynote

And there we go! Apple’s legendary CEO Steve Jobs entered the scene of yesterday’s media event as the first keynote speaker to be represented. For what seemed like a long moment, Jobs was unable to speak after his entrance, because of massive applauses. When he finally had silence and could have his word, he started explaining and thanking everybody in Apple for their support, and especially the generosity of his liver transplant donor, without whom who wouldn’t be here today.

Steve Jobs started introducing the iPhone OS 1.3 in the media event, but did the presentation in cooperating with Phillip Schiller who has been increasingly participating in Apple’s keynotes. He also worked as entirely speaker replacement during Jobs’ leave of absence. As anticipated, Jobs both introduced and ended the Keynote, which featured the female artist Norah Jones, who has won 9 grammy awards with her three albums.

The keynote can be watched through Apple’s site.

Apple confirms the 9th September media event

August 31st, 2009

Apple Keynote 9th September 2009And finally the show is revealed! Apple has just confirmed the ongoing rumors of the media event’s date to be the 9th of September. The Keynote will be presented under the slogan “It’s only rock and roll, but we like it”, which appeals to the Rolling Stones song called “It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll (But I Like It)”. The invitations were issued earlier today, and it appears the event will take place in San Francisco at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, which has been used for former Apple events several other times.

And just to mention it, the theme does indeed seem to be much about music and iPods, maybe even an entire refreshment of the current iPod lineup. If so, we’re very excited about the upcoming Keynote, as there are many rumors indicating several of the iPod models to receive camera functionality.

One of the more mystic speculations is whether the legendary CEO Steve Jobs will be the keynote speaker or not. If he won’t, the most likely person to do so is Philip Schiller, the current Senior Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing at Apple. However, if Jobs intends to participate as keynote speaker at the media event, this will be the first time since his leave of absence, in which he received his liver transplant.

Remember that we will cover the entire media event with summaries of rumors before the event, and follow-ups just after. You will also get a list on the site, with the most reasonable live reporting of the keynote.

Current iPods thinning out

August 30th, 2009

You want an iPod? Wait until Apple releases new models, because honestly it’s getting pretty difficult to acquire them at the moment. As we may have expected, many iPod selling stores report of limited iPods for purchase, and of little hope to get more of them before the next media event, which is to be held around the 9th of September. This is a sign that the rumors of the iPod refreshments could indeed be true. It has even sparkled old discussions of an iPod Classic with a camera. Most rumors and facts have indicated that the iPod Touch and the iPod Nano will leave the new Apple Stores, filming everyone one their way, but the iPod Classic could just as well receive a camera, according to newer reports.

We are still very excited about the upcoming keynote, and since we are not really sure who will be presenting it (Philip Schiller or the legendary CEO Steve Jobs), we would like to hear you guys who you believe gets to enter the scene at the Apple media event. Any ideas or guesses? And if you have, please also tell us what music you think the speaker will choose to play at the keynote. For example Steve and Philip tend to have pretty different taste of music. And after all, this event is most likely to be about music.

Apple to hold media event on the 9th of September?

August 26th, 2009

Apple KeynoteThere is currently much speculation going on, as to which day Apple has actually scheduled their upcoming Keynote for September. The majority of sources indicate a media event for the second week of September, which is the week of the 7th. Many even say it’s going to be exactly the 9th of September, which would break their traditions, as Apple usually hold their media events on Tuesdays. This time though, it’s a Wednesday.

If the September keynote sticks to the traditions of product announcements and updates, it could very well be related to music products such as iTunes and iPod. We may also see some extended explanation or reveals of the new Quicktime X or Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard, which will both be released the 28th of August, yet many reports indicate a new product announcement. Unconfirmed observations also believe additional accessory support to be introduced along with changes to the Mac product line, focusing on notebooks. This may lead to stationary docking stations for the MacBook family or perhaps further display compatibility, not necessarily, of course, produced by Apple, but third party companies.

Steve Jobs

The CEO as the main keynote speaker of Apple

Also, one of the main subjects about the media event, is if the Apple CEO Steve Jobs will be attending the event as keynote speaker. Will he? No one knows for sure, especially not since he didn’t participate in the most recent keynote the 8th of June, even though it was scheduled after his return to Apple and his liver transplant, which originally caused him to quit working for a time, yet still remaining as CEO. However, the legendary CEO has reportedly shown unusual secrecy and intensive work among an upcoming product, which many believe to be the much anticipated Apple Tablet. If a such new product is in fact ready for announcement in September, there is good reason to count on Steve Jobs’ participation, since he seems to be at the center of the product’s development. It is still, however, not sure if a Tablet will actually be announced at the upcoming keynote. If Steve will not be presenting the next keynote, it is most likely Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, who will be the primary speaker at the keynote.

AppleLunch will do some research and have a list available with recommended feeds of the Keynote, which provides live documentation directly from the media event itself.
